In my opinion, Donna Karan killed it with her Resort 2013 collection - the inspiration is amazing with basically every piece! Mostly focused on black and white, she added a few statement colors, such as hot pink, into the mix in a bold way. The silhouettes focus on amplifying the feminine shape - featured necklines and flattering waists everywhere. This attention to detail makes each of these pieces both stand out and classic enough to keep for multiple seasons to come - huge win!
I also love love love Amanda Judge’s garden party dress. Not only does it come in both black and white, but the floral textured petals make it a unique option for any event.
Amanda Judge’s jewelry goes perfectly with her whimsical party dress designs. One favorite of mine is Je T’aime - a strapless striped number featuring lace and peplum. Pair with a piece of statement jewelry and spiky heels and you’ll be ready to go.
Today CUSP featured new dresses from Parker, which are fantastic for any summer event you have. My favorite is the two-tone silk dress - I love the black & white combo, which makes it great for summer but also appropriate for evening, as well as the sheath style combined with the cut-out at the neck and on the back.
Let them eat cake!
One of the things I look forward to the most at any wedding is the cake (I have an incorrigible sweet tooth). Since the mid-week slump is hard enough to get through as it is, why not take a moment to simply enjoy some beautiful dessert. So, I’ve decided to start a Wednesday tradition - cake of the week! I’ll feature a new cake every week that is incredible in terms of artistry as well as on trend.
This week’s cake, brought to us by Faye Cahill, features a dot pattern, which we’re seeing a lot of. I love the black and white motif, and the bow on top of course. It feels very Kate Spade inspired.
